Happy New Year Readers. I trust that you celebrated ringing in the New Year in a festive but safe way and had fun doing so.

I hope your Christmas was filled with peace, love and joy.

My hope for all of you for 2019 is for all to be prosperous in their endeavors and that the year brings good health to all and peace to your soul.

This is the first full week of 2019 which means it is time for me to inform you the readers of my goals for this year related to writing.

To see how my 2018 goals panned out you can read From the Desk of Joseph Clay -Author: 2018 Year End Report. The only thing that happened between that blog to this one is I suffered my fifth heart attack on December 21, 2018. That episode plays into my goals for 2019. I will explain later.

Novel Goals for 2019:

  • Release the re-write of – Demons of the Jungle
  • Release one new novel – Path to the Jungle (Title subject to change.)
  • Release a short story collection – The Tales of Joe (Title subject to change.)

That comes out to one book every quarter. A reachable goal since Demons of the Jungle the re-write is 85% complete, Path to the Jungle is the first installment to Demons of the Jungle is 50% complete and The Tales of Joe is also 50% complete.

Contest Submissions:

This year my goal is to enter a minimum of 3 writing contests to various publications.

Blog goals for 2019:

I have three blogs that I own and/or contribute to, this blog, Joseph Clay – Author Official Blog, ThunderHorse Publishing the Blog and Joe Coming Unglued, my personal blog.

My goal is to write twelve posts for each blog in 2019. That comes to a total of 36 blogs for this New Year.

Appearances:

I’m in the process of booking events. I have set a goal for at least three public appearances this year. However I have not started off well as I have had to cancel my first one, The Comic Convention in Huntsville, Alabama on January 18-19.

The cancellation was due to the heart attack I suffered in December, I have six to eight weeks of recovery with no travel during that time.

Brick and Mortar Stores:

The two local book stores that carried my works have closed down. In 2019 I would like to pick up two more to replace those two. Please contact me using the form and let me know of any independent book stores that are in your area.

Internet Sales:

This year I will be adding a store to my website, Joseph Clay the Official Website, to sell my works directly.

Sales from my website will put more money in my pocket and all books will be autographed. All books will still be available on Amazon, but now the readers will have a choice.

This new store feature should be up and running by February 1, 2019.

That will wrap up my goals for 2019. I wish everyone luck on meeting their goals and keeping their resolutions for 2019.
